I started out building a calendar subsystem, but then found a PEAR Package for building calendars http://pear.php.net/package/Calendar . So now all I have to do is integrate the PEAR Package with an event system for the plugin to be completed. I'll be working on this once I get some time (with the holidays coming up, I'm hoping for a day of pure development bliss ^-^).

From what I have seen of the current Symfony calendar plugin, it's been dead for a while now.

Once I get the basic plugin done, I'll post it on the plugin site - and look forward to others helping making it an awesome calendar plugin ^^;

What are you using to build this? I've got several projects that I need to build calendars for, and wanted to know what people used at the base? like - pear's DateCalc, or the Symfony calendar plugin (which doesn't seem to have been updated in a while), or just some homegrown stuff? I've built a lot of my own stuff for a timeclock app I have, but need to have a basic event calendar plus a pretty advanced appointment scheduling system for other projects, etc.

I'm still working on getting the event system integreated into the calendar I've been developing. With the fun of juggling several projects at once, I can't devote as much time as I'd like to get this on out to my fellow symfonians - but it will get there.

I look forward to hearing your comments about it when you get your hands on it =p

I'm looking forward to this calander plugin.

Currently I am working on a new administration system for a student dancing society. (it runs on Voltaire work.) This plugin would be absolutely perfect for us to schedule all the things the system is tracking at the moment (Classes, Competitions, Events, Training sessions, Maintanance and member meetings.) or that is the plan when it is finished.

You would make my extremely happy is I could use this. I'm not that much of a guru programmer unfortunately (just hacking away with symfony), but it is tremendous fun. I hope I can contribute somehow.

With kind regard,
